Accommodation on Motopos Hills

Photo of 21 year old Lance Corporal Peter Ferrett taken December 20, 1961 during a
period of tension and unrest by Rhodesian Nationalist seeking independence.
This was the first instance where conscripted soldiers were
deployed prior to completion of full military training.

The training company, 3rd Battalion Royal Rhodesia Regiment was
encamped for 3 weeks in a bush location known as Motopos Hills

Two days later Peter welcomed the return to civilian life, transfer to the reserves
and subsequent service with the Zambian Rifles in 1964 with a final discharge in 1966.
